For over 60 years, KAC has served Kirkland and the Eastside. We offer a wide array of visual arts classes and contemporary art exhibitions, all within the historic landmark Peter Kirk Building in downtown Kirkland We are seeking individuals with a passion for the arts, a demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and a strong desire to grow within critical roles. Teaching Artist: Contract
We are seeking a talented and passionate Teaching Artist to join our team. As a Teaching Artist, you will have the opportunity to inspire and engage individuals through various artistic mediums. This is a part-time, quarterly, contract position that requires experience in arts education, lesson planning and classroom management. Send resume and letter of interest to [email protected]

Kirkland Arts Center seeks strong teaching artist candidates for upcoming quarters. We look for experienced art teachers with an enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring diverse students at a range of skill levels and backgrounds. Candidates are eager to support our efforts to reach new students by through their own contact network(s) to augmenting our outreach efforts.
The minimum requirements are a BFA or equivalent relevant experience and 2 or more years teaching visual arts.
Kirkland Arts Center currently offers classes and workshops in ceramics, painting, printmaking, drawing, digital art and photography, writing, collage, jewelry, fiber arts and inter- or cross-disciplinary media invite course proposals outside of our current media offerings. Courses are scheduled on a quarterly basis.
All teaching positions are on contract.

We invite proposals for new classes and workshops for students of all backgrounds, ages and skill levels. We also accept unsolicited course proposals when accompanied by the application items above. In your course proposal, provide a general class description, ideal class or workshop length, materials lists for students, and your available days and times to teach. Images of the sort of work students would create in class are also helpful.

Kirkland Arts Center offers a variety of figure painting and drawing programs each quarter. We look for reliability, experience, ability to take direction, and creative poses.
We typically work with 10-20 nude or costumed models per quarter. Modeling positions are on contract. Modeling sessions are usually three hours long and models are paid $25 per hour. All body types welcome.
