KAC offers a variety of Open Studio sessions for ceramics, painting, drawing and printmaking. Most are free for enrolled students and KAC members. These are not classes led by an instructor, but most are managed by studio monitors who can provide assistance and advice.

Fall 2022

Ceramics Open Studios

Open to currently enrolled ceramics students only.
Cost: Free.

Locations: Mezzanine and Ceramics Studio
  • Mondays – 10:00AM – 1:00PM
  • Fridays – 1:00PM – 5:00PM
  • Saturdays – 1:00PM – 9:00PM
  • Sundays – 1:00PM – 7:00PM

Life Drawing Open Studio

Open to anyone! Prior sign-up required due to capacity restrictions. Sign up here.

Cost: $15.00, collected on site.
Location: Skylight Studio
  • Sundays, 6:00 pm–9:00 pm (Mixed time poses)
  • Thursdays, 6:00pm – 9:00pm (Long poses)
Printmaking Open Studio
Open to enrolled printmaking students only.
Location: Print Studio
Cost: Free.

Painting & Drawing Open Studio

Easels, drawing boards, tables and drawing horses are available, but you will need to bring your own supplies.  This is not a class, but there will be a monitor onsite.
Open to enrolled students and members only. Sign up here.

Cost: Free.
Wednesdays 2:00PM – 5:00PM and 6:00PM – 9:00PM
(Students may stay the entire time between 2-9PM if they sign up for both sessions.)

Teen Open Studio

Last Saturdays! | 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm | Skylight & Printmaking Studios
Teen Open Studio is free and open to anyone aged 13-19. It is an open space available for students to come and work on their own projects with the benefit of KAC’s space and resources. We will have easels, drawing horses and basic drawing and painting supplies available for everyone.

Monitor on April 30th: Shayla M. Alarie, the KAC Director of Education will be on hand to monitor and give guidance to all attending students. Her specialities include artist statements, art writing, drawing and pen and ink. Please email her with any questions or concerns at

Monitor on May 26th: Marc LaPointe, the KAC Education and Programs Coordinator will be on hand to monitor and give guidance to all attending students. Marc is a an interdisciplinary perforamce and installation artist and educator with a passion for using the arts to activate dialogue and promote self-expressions. Space is limited, so students are required to sign up in advance for each session.
