Jim was born in Phoenix, AZ, and earned a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute, as well as a MA and MFA from the University of New Mexico. Jim lived in NYC for seven years after completing graduate school, and taught at College of New Rochelle, the NY State College at Buffalo, Bowdoin College in Maine, the University of WA, Cornish College of the Arts and the University of Puget Sound. He is represented by the Linda Hodges Gallery in Seattle, the Dolby Chadwick Gallery in San Francisco and the Cumberland Gallery in Nashville, and has even been reviewed in the NY Times and the Seattle Times. Jim lives with wife and two sons in the Puget Sound area.
