The Kirkland Arts Center was an awesome location for my real estate class. I loved the location, the staff were very helpful, and the ability to bring in our own food and wine was exactly what we needed. I will absolutely use their venue again!

Our experience with KAC was amazing. They were so flexible with our community’s needs and worked hard to make sure we understood all facets of the art gallery beforehand. Our event went off without a hitch! We are so grateful for KAC’s willingness to open their doors to us.

Rent a Piece of History!

The landmark Peter Kirk Building is available for weddings, social gatherings, holiday parties, bridal showers, baby showers, birthday parties, team building events, business meetings, and more. KAC’s Gallery, Turret Room, and studios are available for rent when classes are not in session.

For over 50 years, the Kirkland Arts Center has owned and maintained the historic Peter Kirk building and transformed it into an exhibition gallery, community arts studio, and education facility. As KAC strives to promote artistic mastery and public participation in the visual arts, we invite you to consider using our unique gallery and meeting spaces for your next private or professional event.

Renting any space at Kirkland Arts Center is on an “as is” basis. We strongly recommend potential renters visit the space before making reservations.

KAC is happy to host everything from weddings to private parties and fundraising events to corporate meetings. Please let us know what kind of event you’re interested in having and we can help you find the best space suited for your needs.
KAC has a very small courtyard space adjacent to the gallery. This space is available for guests to use, weather pending. The space is uncovered and guests need to provide their own tables and seating if they wish to use the space this way.
Renters are responsible for finding their own vendors. KAC does not have exclusive vendors at this time.

We do not have an in-house caterer, either. We often recommend Lynn’s Bistro or Twelve Baskets Catering, both of which are located nearby and have catered events at KAC in the past.

Renters who wish to serve alcohol are required to obtain a Washington state banquet permit, which costs $11 per day. Apply online for a banquet permit.
KAC provides volunteers and staff as needed for events. On weekends and after our normal office hours, typically one staff member is present for setup, cleanup, and during event support at an additional $30 per hour charge.
We recommend you allow an hour ahead of your event for set-up and at least half an hour after your event for clean-up.

Users are expected to leave the facility in the same condition as they found it at the time of rental. A $200 cleaning fine will be added if the kitchen or any other space is not satisfactorily cleaned after use. This fine will automatically be charged to the credit card number provided unless paid immediately after the event.

Renters are responsible for any damage to the Arts Center and its contents, including equipment, supplies, art, etc. Renters agree to compensate KAC for any damages that occur during the event. KAC will automatically deduct up to $250 from the credit card number provided to cover the cost of any damages and will then create a payment plan for any additional amount due.

Rental fees include use of our kitchen, bathrooms, chairs, and tables. KAC has approximately four 6-foot rectangular tables and 50+ chairs available for use but does not provide linens, serving trays, tableware, or sound equipment. We do have a projector and screen available if needed for your event.

Use of any KAC supplies/items must be arranged at the time of rental and is dependent on availability.

KAC has a number of pedestals that can serve in place of a podium if need be. Renters are responsible for their own sound equipment.

We do have a projector and screen available. Please let staff know when you book your rental that you would like use of the projector and screen. Additional setup time may be necessary to get the system connected and running before your event.

Please make sure your laptop has a compatible A/V connector. Our projector has ports for USB, VGA, and HDMI cables and we have adapters for Mini DisplayPort and full-sized DVI. If your laptop is not compatible, email or call (425) 822-7161 x102 to arrange use of one of our laptops.

We also always recommend bringing a backup of your presentation or other files on a thumb drive.

No decorations can be nailed or pinned to the gallery walls and artwork must remain on the walls for the event. Pedestals with 3D artwork can be moved by staff members on a case-by-case basis if necessary for your event. Candles need to be kept well away from any artwork on display.
No commercial photography featuring exhibition work can be taken but photos and videos for personal use are allowed.
Kirkland Arts Center students and visitors may use the Lakeside Christian Church parking lot located just across our back alley (access on 1st St.) every day except Sunday. Street parking around Kirkland Arts Center is also free to the public.

Two spaces directly behind Kirkland Arts Center are reserved for disabled parking and quick loading and unloading. The red zone in front of the gallery on Market St. may also be used for temporary loading and unloading.

KAC offers a 50% discount to non-profit organizations. If you have other rental fee concerns, please let us know. We are happy to negotiate a suitable price for your event when we can.
Due to the historic nature of our building, KAC is not fully accessible. More detailed accessibility information is available here.

Please call ahead if you need ramp access or for further information about accessibility.

Only service animals are allowed in rental spaces during special events.
