About the Artist
I am an artist at heart, I love to splash color on paper, either with watercolor or with any other sort of pigment I can get my mitts on. My work is expressive, loose and some say modern. I love to paints with color in mind and love the art of portraiture and figurative work, the majority of my work is inspired by my Mexican-American / Chicano heritage, from the bold color to the imagery.
I am a Signature Member of the Northwest Watercolor Society ( NWWS ) , Puget Sound Group of Northwest Artists ( PSG ) and also a associate member of the American Watercolor Society . I am a past President of the Northwest Watercolor Society for the 2017-18 year. I am graduate of Cornish College of the Arts, and have worked as a traditional cell animator, web designer and commission artist since leaving high school in ‘93. I am also a USA Boxing Coach and have trained both pro and amateur Boxing, Muay Thai and MMA fighters from the Northwest since 2004. I finally closed the doors of my gym Team Eastside Fight Club in Redmond in 2013 after 10 years in order to paint and teach full time. Most days you can find me at home with my two children Milagros and Cuauhtemoc. And teach weekly at the Kirkland Arts Center, Pratt Arts Center in Seattle and Cloud 9 Art School in Bothell . I conduct workshops and demos around the Northwest in watercolor and acrylics.
All artwork displayed at the Kirkland Public Library Satellite Exhibition is for sale as marked by the Kirkland Arts Center.
