About the Kirkland Arts Center

"The artist's role in the community is to lead, the artist's role is to get people to think things or see things differently, to help get people beyond where they are… to joy, enthusiasm and some sorrow as well." - William Radcliffe, FOUNDER of the Kirkland Arts Center.

Kirkland Arts Center (KAC) serves the Eastside arts community by providing artists and art lovers of all ages the opportunity to work together, build creative skills, and broaden their knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the visual arts. We offer classes, workshops, gallery exhibits and special events in a unique historic setting.

Mission

Kirkland Arts Center provides exemplary visual arts education in a dynamic, community culture. The cornerstone ceramic arts program attracts artists from the Northwest and further afield who share their expertise with students and teachers, and the Gallery's accessible, contemporary art exhibitions showcase innovative works that stimulate a lively public dialogue.

GALLERY

The Kirkland Arts Center Gallery fosters regional artist, encourages innovation and creativity, and provides rare opportunities for independent curators. Committed to engaging, accessible contemporary art, the KAC gallery showcases emerging and established artists and examines emerging themes and regional styles. Critically and popularly accalimed, the KAC Gallery is the only free, professional non-profit gallery on the Eastside.

EDUCATION

Kirkland Arts Center (KAC) serves nearly 2,000 students each year with classes in ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, painting, drawing, and multimedia for all ages. KAC houses a large classroom for painting and drawing classes, a printmaking studio, and a complete ceramics facility, including two gas-fired kilns.
